What’s Considered Vintage?
Is this vintage? I’ve been seeing a lot of bikes that fall in the same category as this 1984 CR250, at my local races. Water-cooled, mono shock, and even a front disc brake, isn’t what I think of when I think “vintage”. I guess it does fall into the “Post-Vintage” class. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s great that there is a class for these years of bikes.
I just remember about 13 years ago, when I really got into vintage racing, and these types of bikes weren’t even allowed on the track, (at least at the races I was attending). Back then I saw many more Bultacos, Huskys, and CZs, only a few Japanese bikes here and there at all. I just want to see a good spread of everything at the races. I would hate to see the bikes that originated motocross disappear. Bring them out of your barns, clean them up and get them racing!
