1976 Kawasaki KX125-A3

1976 Kawasaki KX125-A3Try not to drool on your keyboards while you check out this absolutely perfect 1976 Kawasaki KX125-A3 from Tony DeSantis of Flemington, New Jersey.

This 1976 Kawasaki KX125-A3 is the same model and year I purchased new at age 14. I restored this bike to like new condition. The frame was sand blasted and powder coated. The engine was completely rebuilt, all the original hardware were re-zink plated. The wheels were stripped, polished and re-anodized. Every detail has been recreated to make this bike look like it came off the Kawasaki dealer floor in 1976.

From 1974 to 1976 Kawasaki made very minimal changes to their KX125, mainly graphics and paint. The 178 pound 1976 Kawasaki KX125-A3 was a 124cc rotary valve air cooled machine that put out a claimed 22 hp. That’s pretty decent power to weight ratio, making this a peppy and very fun to ride bike as long as the track isn’t torn too torn up. Why? The ’76 KX125 has less than 4 inches of suspension in the rear and 6 inches in the forks, which wasn’t much for most bikes in 1976. It is because of the short suspension however, that the ’76 KX125 is legal in the AHRMA vintage sportsman class, (correct us if we’re wrong).

Thanks for sharing your treasured two-stroke with everyone Tony!

This Bike is why I ride today. It was my very first bike I owned. Great memories riding in High school with all my friends. We would go out to the pines and the pits. This KX 125 was amazing climbing all the hills in the pits, it had plenty of torque to clime just about anything.

    What Amazing Job restoring it!!!!!!!!!

Hi I was living in Geraldton western Australia when I brought mine age 15 in 1976. I rode it every day until 1980 when I was transferred 1300km away as part of the last 6 months of my apprenticeship. I had it locked in Dad’s shed until my brother found it and built a trike out of it, he is 10 yrs younger than me. I still remind him all the time about my 1976 KX 125. Loved that bike.
